Hybrid networks to relieve our natural water resources
On April 20, 2023
Water is becoming scarcer as a result of global warming. SWDE and SPGE are tasked with finding innovative alternative supply solutions to save our resources. Hybrid networks" are one such solution.
About
The project aims to introduce hybrid networks in public construction projects in order to diversify water supply sources. Faced with the challenges of global warming and dwindling water resources, this initiative seeks to optimize water use by combining different alternative sources. These sources include treated wastewater, quarry drainage water and rainwater. The aim is to guarantee a reliable, sustainable water supply while minimizing the impact on the environment. This pilot project, supported by the Walloon government, aims to assess the technical and economic feasibility of integrating these hybrid networks into public real estate projects, with a particular focus on identifying available alternative resources, mapping local needs and setting up decentralized networks.
